Day 1 : Arrive in Auckland

Day 2 : Auckland – Waitomo – Rotorua

Travel south through the fertile Waikato region to arrive at Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves which includes an underground boat ride to view millions of glow worms on cavern roof arches. Next, continue on to the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach the ‘Thermal City’ of Rotorua.

Day 3 : Rotorua

This morning visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Next, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife. Then, continue on to Agrodome for the legendary Agrodome Farm Show! Witness a sheep shearing demonstration, see farm dogs round up sheeps and ducks, and try your hand at feeding baby lambs. The afternoon is at leisure. In the evening enjoy an authentic Maori Hangi (dinner) and performance.

Day 4 : Rotorua – Wellington

Travel south to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo and along the shores of Lake Taupo to Turangi, before continuing on the Desert Road. Take in the stunning views of Mt. Ruapehu, Mt. Ngauruhoeand and Mt. Tongariro. Continue south through lush farmland before arriving in Wellington.

Day 5: Wellington

Start the morning with a city tour of Wellington. Visit The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa and enjoy a short guided tour. The rest of the afternoon is to be enjoyed at leisure.

Day 6: Wellington – Queenstown

Depart on your domestic flight from Wellington to Queenstown (airfare is not included). A morning flight is recommended to allow time to explore Queenstown at leisure in the afternoon.

Day 7: Milford Sound (day trip)

Follow the southern leg of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden and continue on to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breathtaking man-made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise along this world-famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Lunch will be served onboard. Next, return to Queenstown.

Day 8: Queenstown

Enjoy the day at leisure. Queenstown is fantastic for experiencing high adrenaline activities such as bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola riding and more. Optional activities are not included in the tour price.

This morning travel Mt. Cook. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before travelling across the Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch.
