On arrival, pick up your car and drive to Parliament House and enjoy stunning views of the city. Next, drive over to Commonwealth Avenue to see The International Flag Display, and continue to the suburb of Yarralumla, home to nearly 80 embassies and high commissions. For picture perfect views of Canberra, drive or walk to the lookout points at Mount Ainslie.

Take off at dawn in a hot air balloon for a magical way to experience the city from above. In the late afternoon, head north to discover Canberra District Wine region and taste the award-wining cool-climate wineries. Next drive to the Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum.

Visit Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve which offers outstanding natural wildlife experiences. Spot famous five native Australian animals: the kangaroos, koalas, emus, wombat and the elusive platypus in their natural surrounds on one of the gentle self-guided walks through the reserve. Get an adrenaline rush as you race down a 1.2 kilometre alpine slide at Corin Forest in summer. On the way back to city, check out a 3.8 billion-year-old moon rock and discover what astronauts eat in space at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex.

Start your day with a caffeine fix at the Cupping Room or Highroad, both serving delicious, award-winning local ONA Coffee. In the afternoon families can enjoy Gold Creek Village, which hosts a variety of kids’ activities from digging for dinosaur bones to meeting reptiles. Highlights of the area include Cockington Green Gardens, National Dinosaur Museum, and Canberra Reptile Zoo. For wine lovers, head north to discover Canberra’s wine region, home to 140 vineyards and more than 40 wineries, and taste award-wining cool-climate wines.
