6D Darwin, Kakadu & Litchfield

On arrival, pick up your car and drive to Adelaide River to join the Jumping Crocodile Cruise. The ride will cover Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its diverse wildlife and expansive landscapes. Continue to Mamukala Wetlands and watch as birds congregate to feed.

Drive to Ubirr to witness the fascinating manifestations of rock art before visiting the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Go on an afternoon cruise at Yellow Water Billabong - the best way to experience the wetlands of Kakadu.

The drive this morning will bring you to Katherine via Pine Creek. Continue south along the Stuart Highway to the town of Katherine where the outback meets the tropics. Explore Katherine Gorge by boat or on foot. Spare some time for Edith Falls – a swimming hole surrounded by lush foliage and misty waterfalls.

Drive north to Litchfield National Park where some of the most enormous termite mounds can be found. Swim in the turquoise waters of Buley Rockhole, Florence or Wangi Falls. As the evening approaches, drive back to Darwin.

Choose between starting your tour at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory or Crocosaurus Cove. For a more adventurous alternative, you may wish to visit the Territory Wildlife Park, home to a 3.7m saltwater crocodile; trek through the park’s nocturnal house. Continue to Mindil Beach Sunset Markets and explore the many local handicraft and street food stalls.

If time permits, take a stroll around Darwin Waterfront Precinct for a quick shopping treat or head to Parap Market for a range of local delicacies. Alternatively, take a dip in the lagoon. Then return your car at the airport prior to your departure flight.
